The Strategic Buyer role, based in Bornem, will manage procurement activities for Lonza Capsules & Health Ingredients Division, Raw Materials portfolio and support CHI category strategy implementation across multiple Lonza sites worldwide.

Key responsibilities:

- Support Director of Capsules & Ingredients direct materials in market research and data mining for specific empty capsules raw materials, in relation with costs and availability drivers
- Collaborate effectively with HC Category Managers to support category strategies development & execution, and to deliver value and continuous improvement to assigned sites
- Partner with stakeholders in assigned sites, capture site needs, ensure business continuity and that Procurement meets the site(s) business needs
- Source, tender, negotiate and contract the potentially spend delegated by Category Manager(s) across assigned site(s)
- Drive savings initiatives: develop pipeline of initiatives and realize savings with delegated spend suppliers or products
- Manage relationship with suppliers in liaison with the delegated spend or as agreed with Category Managers

Key requirements:

- University Degree (BSc) in Business/ Economics/SCM/Procurement or Chemistry/Biology
- Experience within category management/Procurement preferably in pharma/life sciences industry or similar
- Skilled in key procurement processes: category management, supplier management, negotiations, contract management, e-procurement systems
- IT literate in the use of MS Office packages
- Hands-on experience in SAP is desirable
- Fluent English is required, additional language is an asset
- Customer service mindset and ability to manage several priorities simultaneously
