EHS Specialist

The global operating division Performance Materials with its headquarter at the BASF Belgium Coordination Center bundles BASF's competencies in innovative plastics. It provides customer-oriented solutions for industries like automotive, construction, packaging, electrics and electronics, sports, footwear, wind and solar energy.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
As an EHS Specialist you are part of the EHS Service of the Benelux organization, consisting of 3 people. In this position you are one of the experts for the themes of safety, health and the environment. It is a role for 32 hours a week (80%).

These are your responsibilities:

- Acting as prevention advisor for our various locations (Waterloo, Brussels, Gembloux)
- Developing, implementing and evaluating the welfare policy, in accordance with the Dynamic Risk Management System referred to in the Well-being legislation
- Coordinating the activities and obligations as a local point of contact for Belgian government agencies (Valipac, FAMHP, FASFC)
- Conducting and supervising EHS inspections and audits in the Benelux sites
- You are secretary of the committee for prevention and protection at work and, in your role, actively participate in the consultation on prevention and protection at work
- Creating awareness about safety, by organizing workshops and training (eg. Safety Days)
- Coordinating the activities and obligations of the emergency organization within the different sites
- Be available in case of calamities as a member of the crisis team for Belgium

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- You have a relevant bachelor's or master's degree and you have successfully completed the training to become a prevention advisor level 2
- You are fluently trilingual FR-NL-EN and you communicate with ease at different levels within the organization
- You have at least 3 years of work experience in a similar position
- You have knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO50001 management systems
- Additional diplomas in the field of safety science and the environment are a plus
- You can set priorities well and know how to switch smoothly between the different parts of this role
