GEA is looking for an enthusiastic purchaser (Operational Buyer), who will be part of the Pharma Solids Compression Supply Chain Team in Halle and report to the Head of Procurement. The Operational Buyer is the competent intermediary between the supplier and GEA. She/he represents the company both internally and externally. An energetic and diplomatic approach as well as an analytical and critical attitude are important requirements for this function.

**Your responsibilities and tasks**:

- Manage the buying process including sourcing planning, quotation process, negotiate contracts with specified target pricing, cost and delivery targets.
- Improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings, utilising negotiation & procurement best practice tools and methods.
- Ensure Professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
- Understanding & analyzing of technical drawings when needed.
- Expediting purchase orders to support fulfilment of production schedules and spare parts orders
- Align expectations with Mechanical Engineering, Project management and support Engineering / Production Team on new ideas & new developments
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures

**Your profile and qualifications**:

- You:

- hold a bachelor´s degree. Preferably in Engineering (Electromechanics etc.)
- have a minimum of 3 years of professional and relevant experience.
- are a team player with a passion for techno-commercial affiliation
- have customer focus with an accurate & analytical approach.
- have high value of quality and on time delivery commitment.
- are fluent in English (Dutch & French are an advantage).
- have excellent knowledge of Excel
- Compliance, Respect & Integrity are key
- have knowledge of ERP (AS400) or SAP is an added advantage.
