About you and this role
Dow has a Fresh Graduate Ph.D. Opportunity for a Research Scientist within Emulsions, Blends, Powders (EBP) Product Development team, in our location in Seneffe, Belgium.
The successful applicant will be responsible for developing, formulating, and testing new products. The Research Scientist will be included in a very diverse team and work with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver innovative solutions.
**Responsibilities**:
- Serve as SME or project leader on multi-disciplinary project teams to collaborate, provide technical input and deliver results aligned with team deliverables for the purpose of creating value for Dow.
- Scale-up, sample, and commercialize new products by working seamlessly with other groups, business partners, and functions.
- Keep current with industry and academia by reading the literature, monitoring competition, and attending conferences.
- Draft and submit patent disclosures as appropriate.
- Collaborate with customers and business partners to identify and charter new projects.
- Communicate and appropriately document work in the form of internal reports/presentations and external publications/presentations (when appropriate).
- Maintain safety as a top priority and advocate adherence to safety policies and procedures. Lead team in promotion of best safety practices, habits, and behaviors.
**Qualifications**:
- You have recently acquired your Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or any related discipline.
- You have 0-2 years of experience.
- Experienced in Colloidal Science will be considered as a plus.
- You have experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
- You are fluent in English; French language is a plus.
- You can start between May and July (exact date will be discussed).

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to delivers presentations that distil complex ideas and proactively communicates results and progress to technical teams, supervision, management, and business leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to successfully partner with team members and stakeholders from multiple backgrounds.
- Strong personal skills including time management, written and oral communication, self-direction, and prioritization.
Additional notes
- Legal entitlement through EU citizenship or a valid VISA for working in the project country.
