Junior Biometrician

We are seeking a Junior Biometrician to join us at our R&D Innovation Center in Ghent, Belgium.

**WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT**:

- You mine and extract value from an extensive breeding database to support superior decision making in breeding.
- You develop tools to enhance our next generation breeding platform.
- You provide analysis support and expertise to hybrid crops.
- You independently develop research activities in line with head of Biometrics and department strategy.

**WHAT YOU OFFER**:

- A Ph.D. degree in statistics or quantitative genetics, or a master’s degree with broad applied experience in statistical support of breeding programs.
- Expertise in statistical software (R and packages such as BGLR).
- Strong mixed modelling skills and experience with ASReml-R.
- Experience in machine learning is a plus.
- Good reporting and communication skills and fluent in English.
- Comfortable in working in a multicultural environment and a team player with strong interpersonal communication skills.
