**Summary**

As a Chief Accountant, you will lead a team of AP accountants, overseeing meticulous month-end closing procedures and ensuring the integrity of general ledger accounts in compliance with US and Belgium GAAP standards. With a focus on annual accounts preparation, tax activities, and optimization of financial processes, you will help drive financial improvement at CellCarta.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Manage a small team of AP accountants
- Leading month-end account closing procedures, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain the integrity of general ledger accounts, upholding accuracy, and full compliance with regulatory standards (both US and Belgium GAAP)
- Preparing and finalizing the annual accounts in accordance with US and BE GAAP, demonstrating a thorough understanding of accounting principles.
- Efficiently manage the preparation of payment runs while maintaining daily, accurate records of bank statements.
- Take ownership of tax preparation and filing activities, ensuring adherence to legal requirements, and minimizing risks.
- Drive financial improvement by conducting in-depth analysis and assessing internal controls to optimize processes and internal controls.
- Play a role in supporting the auditor.

**Education**
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.

**Requirements**:

- Extensive experience as a Senior or Chief Accountant with team management experience.
- Possessing a comprehensive grasp of both IFRS and BE GAAP.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 (or similar comparable ERP) a plus.
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
- Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English (French is a plus).
