Material Planner

As a
**material planner** you
**will support the supply chain team in the planning, buying and follow-up of raw materials, components and other production related materials**.
You
**will support to deliver production plans and deploy actions defined in the supply chain strategies to achieve cost reductions**. You work aligned with policies and communicate regularly with different departments, looking for a more efficient internal material flow from suppliers, warehouse management and production lines.
You will be based in one of our three Belgian plants (Zwijnaarde, Evergem or Roeselare), pending your interest.
- You are responsible to handle the material incoming information and ensure that goods will be available to be used in production. You stay in direct contact with production planning to maintain a good overview of the needs.
- You **coordinate the delivery dates with suppliers **and with the launch team, in case of a new project
- You **identify potential shorfalls and coordinate information & priorities **with all appropriate departments and stakeholders
- You** provide the purchasing team with the forecasting data** in order to support in the negotiation for new components and or current one
- You **review production schedules and vendors’ performance** to mitigate potential capacity constrains in the upstream flow
- You **detect and inform preventively potential volume changes** that impacts contracts and or agreements with suppliers
- You **manage inventory management for all purchased parts**, current & new, assessing ways to increase inventory turnover and avoiding SKU’s proliferation
- You **recommend and implement better MRP planning parameters**, Kanban sizes or supplier delivery schedules
- You are **responsible to feed materials KPI’s** as inventory levels, range of coverage,...
- You function as a **deputy for the production planner and other material planners** in case of vacation
- You have a **higher education in business management, supply chain, engineering **or a related field
- Ideally you have a**t least 3 years of experience in material planning **preferably in the automotive industry or in a similar role in industrial companies
- You are** fluent in English,** both written and spoken. Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is a bonus
- You have **good user skills of MS Office** and have **SAP user level experience** for all planning processes
- You are a** real problem solver and work well-organized**:
- You are **capable of communicating with different internal and external partners** on different levels
- You have **knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma** principles
