What is the project about?

As a fiber consultant you will be part of the Fixed Access Engineering Squad that is constantly working with cutting edge and diverse fixed technology. The main responsibilities of the team are situated on the physical layer: the optical network, and the HFC plant and platform running on those access networks.
As a senior fiber consultant, you will focus on our vision to expand our fiber network and prepare for fiber-to-the-home connectivity. Key opportunities for the upcoming quarters take place in the following areas: fiber network topology, high
- and low-level design, build activities, supporting tools, processes, and documentation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Document and explore multiple options to introduce PON technology in our current fiber network topology, starting from high level design options with their cost implementations, and resulting in design guidelines to support the build organization
- Write technical documentation to support our key stakeholders
- Requirements to support RFI/RFP
- Provide Technical documentation, input for training and trouble-shooting procedures
- Instruct for our construction parties starting from design, civil works, fiber blowing, and spicing
- Interface with other engineering teams, build organization, and operational teams to acquire requirements and translate them into technical solutions and documentation
- Support initiatives to introduce innovative ideas in cooperation with operational & engineering departments

**Requirements**:

- You are an excellent communicator and can bring people together
- Excellent English documentation writing skills
- You have worked within the fiber design or construction domain and have knowledge of among others network inventory systems, design tools, and geographical datasets
- you are not stuck in ‘old ways’, but rather welcome and actively explore new opportunities that will increase efficiency
- English is key, Dutch and/or French is an asset
- You constantly maintain an overview of the technology landscape and potential innovations
