Finance Director

The Finance Director is a key member of and business partner to the Belgium Leadership team and the Edelman Global Advisory finance leadership team, ensuring Edelman has what it needs to deliver on its client centric obsession.
- The FD will lead and manage the Belgium financial function, including both management accounting and statutory reporting, financial planning and analysis, employee compensation as well as partner with the global finance team on global client finance management. The FD may partner with the EGA CFO in any M & A activities and will maintain the integrity of financial information and assure its effective communication internally and externally where appropriate.
- The FD is responsible for maintaining a robust business including meeting comp to fee metrics, meeting margin targets, while maintaining a healthy operating profit and solid revenue growth.
**Preferred Knowledge and Skills**:
- Financial executive with an operational bent, and 7-9+ years of progressively relevant experience in agency, integrated marketing company, or consultancy
- Experience leading and navigating business units through transformation using progressive models of management reporting
- Strong collaborator
- Experience partnering with infrastructure teams: IT, HR, Legal and Compliance
- Change agent
- Advanced influencing skills
- Must be highly credible with both internal and external constituencies
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and/or recognized professional accounting qualification
- MBA preferred
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence - ability to motivate staff.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills
**Strategy, Planning and Management**
- Assess and evaluate financial performance with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts.
- Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plans for the organization.
- Communicate, engage and interact with UK Leadership Team
- Participate in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models.
**Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting**
- Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division (practice/sector/client/Integrated Solutions etc.) and forecast vs. budget by division.
- Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations.
- Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget.
**Administration and Operations**
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data to the CFO, EGA
- Liaison with the auditors for both the US G.A.A.P. and Statutory audits.
- Participate in the preparation and timely filing of all local tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant local legislation reporting.
- Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation.
**Team Management**
- Mentor and develop finance business partners, setting KPIs, and building of an effective and efficient team dynamic.
- Line Management of the Facilities Director ensuring efficient running of the facilities function
