The building sector is responsible for close to 40% of global CO2 emissions and one in three Europeans live with poor indoor climate. We see an urgent need to deliver sustainable, healthy and affordable buildings and at VELUX we want to be part of this transformation. We have many years of experience and knowledge on energy, climate, health and environmental issues in buildings, as well as on energy-efficient and sustainable products and solutions. Our goal is to visibly make a difference by setting the standard for sustainable business. Because it is who we are, because the world needs it and because it is good for business. We’re now looking for an Associate Global Public Affairs Advisor to join our team for an initial 6-month period to assist us ensure that our purpose is top of mind among policy makers and influencers.

**Your challenges**

As Associate Global Public Affairs Advisor, based in Brussels, you will support strengthen our narrative and action on key themes and projects and become part of our Global Public Affairs team with colleagues in Brussels and at the VELUX Head Office in Denmark. Together, we are committed to creating awareness of the importance of daylight and fresh air in buildings, and to causing real impact on decarbonizing our sector.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

- **Support the thought leadership team**
- Maintaining the overall ‘masterplan’ of activities across the public affairs and thought leadership teams, ensure up-to-date documents
- Coordinate global projects, platforms and events such as COP27 participation, New York Climate Week, press and SoME work, etc
- **Support the launch of Healthy Buildings Barometer 2024**
- Ensure the project is on track, including coordinating with colleagues in markets/across functions as needed
- Assist in creating the launch framework - content, materials, SoMe, events, etc
- **Support the EU office**
- Monitor latest EU policy developments (European Commission, European Parliament, European Council) covering key files and provide updates as needed
- Support the work around European Parliament elections 2024: gathering intel on who is running, assist with drafting policy messages/manifestos/briefing papers
- Support our activities on the renovation agenda, both internally and externally
- **Ad-hoc**
- Acting on meeting requests, prepare meetings and secure thorough follow-up
- Attend relevant events and conferences

You will be part of a global organization and can expect occasional travel to our Head Office in Hørsholm, Denmark. Additionally, we offer you flexibility and opportunities to work remotely.

**Your qualifications**

Professionally, you manage to understand, analyze and communicate political matters in a corporate environment characterized by increasing politicization. You are respectful and trustworthy in your communication, eager to learn and have a proactive approach to task solving. You have advanced networking skills and you like to work within a team.

Moreover, you have:

- A relevant Master’s degree in political science, law, international relations, economics, communications or similar
- First experience from either the (EU) political environment, a consultancy, trade association or NGO, or similar
- A good knowledge of European affairs, preferably within energy, climate and environmental policies.
- Advanced oral and written English skills. Other languages are a big bonus

**Your opportunities**

Joining our team, you will collaborate with purpose-focused and persistent colleagues who want to make the difference on the green transition.

You will be based in Brussels at our office near in the EU district and report to director head of Global Public Affairs, Christina Bruun Andersen.

The Global Public Affairs team is part of the External Communication, Sustainability & Public Affairs department. The contract on offer is a 6-month ‘professional immersion contract’.

Depending on overall performance and needs, there is a possibility for prolongation/a permanent contact, but this cannot be guaranteed.
