Om de volgende generatie slimme machines en (autonome) voertuigen te ontwerpen, moeten specialisten uit verschillende disciplines (mechanica, software, elektronica) samenwerken binnen een zeer iteratief ontwerpproces. Terwijl klantgericht ontwerpen almaar belangrijker wordt, blijft ook de marktintroductietijd enorm belangrijk. Om de concurrentie voor te blijven, hebben hightech productiebedrijven nieuwe innovatieve modelgebaseerde ontwerpprocessen nodig om hun engineeringteam te ondersteunen.

**Creëer concepten voor state-of-the-art modelgedreven systeemengineeringtools**:
Om industriële innovaties te lanceren, zal je:

- Samenwerken binnen een onderzoeksteam met expertise in o.a. modelgedreven engineering, computerdesignsynthese, optimalisatietechnieken & mechatronische ontwerpen.

Samen met het team zal je:

- Fouten opsporen in de huidige state-of-the-art engineeringprocessen die door de industrie voor de ontwikkeling van hightech machines en voertuigen gebruikt worden;
- In interactie gaan met experten in machine ontwerp voor een doorgedreven functionele analyse;
- Modelgedreven engineeringconcepten uittekenen en oplossingen ontwerpen om de grenzen van engineeringprocessen te verleggen;
- Het academisch en industrieel onderzoek opvolgen naar modelleertalen, engineeringtools, engineeringmethoden, ontwerpruimte-exploratiealgoritmen, kaders,...;
- Industriële uitdagingen en nieuwe researchopportuniteiten opsporen en voorstellen.

**Creatieve denker met een analytische geest**:
Je hebt:

- Een master
- of doctoraatsdiploma in computerwetenschappen;
- Minstens 5 jaar ervaring met functionele analyse en/of datamodellering;
- Affiniteit met het ontwerpen van cyber-fysische systemen;
- Een sterke interesse in het verwerven van de noodzakelijke vaardigheden om met verschillende modelleertalen te leren werken (bijv. SysML, Ecore, OWL, Eclipse,);
- Een grote belangstelling voor het verkennen van nieuwe declaratieve talen;
- Ervaring met ontwikkeling van embedded software is een pluspunt;
- Eventuele kennis van modelleersoftware (Simscape, AMESim, Matlab, Simulink,...) is een pluspunt.

- Sterk in conceptueel en abstract denken;
- Gepassioneerd door onderzoek en industriële innovaties;
