Our client is a big international company active in the logistics sector. They strive to engage, empower and reward their people, both onboard and ashore.
The **Financial Business Controller** is part of the Operations team which is responsible for the commercial contract execution and optimization.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Tracking, reporting and analyzing budget variances.
- Process Management, Process Analysis and Process Improvement.
- Recommending changes in policies or procedures that will improve financial performance.
- Providing accurate financial reports to various internal stakeholders.
- Ensuring that all accounts receivable and payable are respectively correctly collected and paid.
- Coaching of the team and working on ad hoc internal projects within the Operations team.
- Once a good understanding of the business is acquired, further responsibilities will be added.
**The requested qualifications for this job**:
- You have a Master degree in Finance, Business or Economics
- You have minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position or in an international audit firm.
- Experience in the shipping industry is a plus, having interest in the industry is a must
- You work fluently with Excel, VBA macros & databases such as MS Access and MS SQL.
- You have a strong knowledge of process management.
- Knowledge of methodologies like Lean or Agile is a strong plus.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You can prioritize, organize and make decisions.
- You ae fluent in Dutch and English.
- You are a team player.
