ARHS Group - part of Accenture is looking for a Senior Scrum Master with at least 6 years of experience for one of its clients in Brussels, a key player in the Financial Industry.
**Context**
The Scrum Master is the key reference in a project following an agile framework as the Scrum methodology. They ensure the global understanding of the methodology by the Project Team and help the team to maximize the project’s result. They protect the team from internal and external distractions.
The mission of the scrum master is to reinforce the Scrum/Agile practices in the team & help team members:
- to communicate, coordinate and collaborate
- to achieve the objectives by ensuring an environment free of obstacles
- to promote continuous improvement
- to self-organize and self-coach
Agile teams are cross-functional. All required disciplines are represented in the team (analysis, development, testing,). However, although team members have a primary role representing a discipline, they are expected to take on other roles and contribute to other disciplines whenever it helps towards reaching the sprint goal.
**Role & responsibilities**
- Project follow-up_
- Setting up and facilitating the Scrum ceremonies (Daily Standup, Sprint Review, Sprint Planning, Retrospective) and other meetings
- Scheduling and following the key steps of the methodology
- Guaranteeing a smooth use of the Scrum methodology and help the Project Team face any obstacles
- Providing assistance or supporting the Product Owner concerning the Product Backlog
- Assisting and supporting the team in the delivery of the Definition of Done (DoD), Sprint Backlog, etc.
- Tracking team capacity and velocity metrics for planning and progress purposes
- Project methodology and Coaching_
- Coaching and challenging the Project Team
- Helping the Project Team face any difficulties and promoting its gradual self-organization
- Removing barriers to team effectiveness and protecting the team from outside distractions
- Ambassador of agile methods within the company
- Providing to his/her superiors a reporting on the proper deployment of the Scrum methodology within projects
- Risk & issue management

- Sound knowledge of English as well as (at least) one local language

**Technical skills**
- Knowledge of agile reporting and follow-up tools (e.g. Jira)
- Understanding of tooling on automated unit testing, automated functional testing and continuous integration tooling
- Sound knowledge of software development methodology
- Sound knowledge of project management methodology
- Expert knowledge of agile methodology and techniques (e.g. Kanban)
