Search for Common Ground is an international peacebuilding NGO with activities in 30 conflict-affected countries across the globe and headquarters in Belgium and the USA. We are dedicated to transforming violent conflict into peace and stability, enabling communities to thrive.
We are looking for a motivated and proactive new colleague to join our Brussels-based team. In coordination with the Manager Press and Communications and other team members of the Communications Department, this position is responsible for conceptualizing, writing, editing, and publishing appropriate and engaging content that sustains readers’ curiosity, creates a buzz around Search for Common Ground, and caters to a variety of audiences.
**Team Summary**
The Global Communications Team raises awareness, increasing the visibility of peacebuilding and positions Search for Common Ground as a leading partner in transforming violent conflict. Collaboration between global and country teams is essential for achieving Search for Common Ground's goal of amplifying influence by 2028. Key responsibilities of the communication team include managing external messaging and activities to advance Search for Common Ground's mission, maintaining accurate public information, overseeing media engagement and crisis response, and maximizing awareness through earned media opportunities.
**Responsibilities**:
- Support the development of a content strategy aligned with the overall communications strategy.
- Implement testing across all external communications channels and facilitate a process of continuous improvement based on insights gained from testing.
- Assist in the planning and execution of campaigns, including content creation, dissemination, and monitoring.
- Create social media assets to highlight events and reports, such as quote cards, factoids, infographics, and video slideshows.
- Provide support to the Communications team in various general tasks, including writing, translating texts, proofreading, and handling administrative functions related to communications activities.

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or any related field.
- Proven experience in content creation, social media management, and communication strategy development.
- Strong analytical skills to transform data into compelling narratives.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools and video editing software.
- Outstanding written and spoken English and French.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and external partners.
**Working Conditions**
- Usual office environment in Brussels. Search for Common Ground Belgium currently has a policy requiring at least 2 days per week of presence in the office.
**Salary and Contract**
The salary range for this position would be between 3.205 - 3.700 EUR gross per month, based on relevant experience, with standard benefits: 22 days of annual leave, end-of-year office closure, double vacation pay, meal vouchers (Eur 7;
- per worked day), life insurance, hospitalization, dental and ambulatory health insurances, disability insurance, contribution to mobile phone use, transport allocation, home office allowance and a contribution to a private pension fund.
