Role purpose
The Infrastructure Network Operations Specialist’s role is to support the IT infrastructure team within the Data-centre environment. The specialists’ role also includes daily network operations support, monitoring, execution of service requests and taking remedial action when procedures require it. The team of Infrastructure Network Operations Specialists shall collectively possess all of the technical skills described below, i.e. each of the technical skills listed below shall be covered at least by one (1) re-source proposed for this profile.
Job responsibilities
- Troubleshoot incidents to the extent of defined procedures and responsibilities;
- Manage, maintain, and update documentation as required;
- Raise incidents in the ticketing system (SMT or Service Now), and update relevant information for as long as the ticket is handled by operations;
- Assist in documenting problems and assisting problems management as required;
- Fulfil operations service requests;
- Identify opportunities and recommend solutions that will enhance operations, contributing to continuous improvement;
- Escalate and route incidents to appropriate parties as foreseen in procedures;
- Take over first line Service Desk Network Infrastructure activities after Service Desk office hours, by handling incidents and service requests.
- Experience in analysis events though monitoring tools.
Technical and specific skills / Experience
- Knowledge of infrastructure communications systems, CISCO VoIP, LAN, WAN;
- Knowledge of end user HW/SW;
- Knowledge of ticketing, CMDB and change management tools;
- Deep knowledge of networking IP/Routing and networking protocols;
- Experience managing data, voice, and/or video network infrastructures;
- Understanding of high availability designs;
- Experience with job schedulers;
- Experience 3-6 years in similar position
- Vendor domain certifications: ITIL foundation certification (required)
- Mandatory English level2 CECRL
- CCNA certification is a strong asset
