**What does this job entail?**:
The Equity Research team plays a **crucial role in the Equity value chain **at KBC Securities, working closely together with internal (Sales, Sales-Trading, Corporate Finance, Bolero, Private Banking, Wealth) and external (investors, corporates, sector specialists) stakeholders.
Next to the **fundamental analysis and valuation of companies, **Equity Research is responsible for the commercialization of investment ideas towards institutional investors while maintaining a close relationships with the top management of companies under coverage. Next to assessing financial impact, the assessment of ESG risks and opportunities on these companies have become more and more important.
**What do we expect from you?**:
KBC Securities is looking for an ESG Expert who can play a vital role in further **integrating sustainability in our research product**. This spans from being the main sparring partner of the equity research analysts regarding various sustainability topics; building upon the current framework of ESG integration in research notes; together with analysts performing deep dive analyses in sectors and investment themes from an ESG perspective; etc.
You gather** knowledge on sustainability regulations** and initiatives, and in support of the analysts, translate this in our research product. Following up regulatory changes and sharing these in order to adjust our ESG framework when needed.
As the main contact on sustainability in the Research team, you will closely cooperate with other departments within KBC Securities (Sales, Corporate Finance, Loan & Debt markets, ) and KBC Group (Corporate Sustainability Department, KBC Asset Management, Corporate Banking, ), taking up an important role in KBC’s sustainability knowledge hub, leveraging this knowledge within Research.
**Your key strengths?**:
- You have **knowledge of sustainable finance regulation,** voluntary initiatives, and net-zero target setting initiatives like EU Taxonomy, SFRD, TCFD, UNPRI, UNSDG’s, SBTI, etc.
- You have strong **organizational **skills, being able to driving sustainability projects in KBCS.
- You have strong **communication **skills in English, both written and verbal.
- You have an interest in **stock markets.**:
- You have the ability to articulate a clear point of view and challenge the status quo.
