We are hiring an EU Policy Assistant to join our EU Affairs team in Brussels.

**Key tasks and responsibilities**
Work together with Hydro colleagues on the preparation and execution of Hydro’s EU affairs agenda:

- Monitoring and reporting of various policy and political developments.
- Desk research on various policy issues.
- Supporting preparation of events and meetings, including drafting of memos, presentations, and briefing materials for both internal and external meetings, including briefings to Hydro executives.
- Continuous updates of positions and messaging bank of Hydro EU Affairs.
- Attendance and reporting on external events.

The position reports to the Head of EU Affairs in the Group Communication and Public Affairs team.
- A master’s degree, preferably in European Studies or other related fields.
- Good understanding of EU decision-making process.
- An interest in key industrial policy fields such as energy and climate, circular economy, sustainability, investment support and trade.
- Some previous relevant work experience, for example internships.
- Excellent oral and written communication in English. Fluency in a Scandinavian language is a plus but not a requirement.
- Perfect command of Microsoft Office package.
- Reliability and ability to work independently, with attention to details.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Eager to learn and willing to take on new responsibilities.

**Conditions**
- A fixed-term employment contract (un contrat à durée déterminée)
- Period of 6+6 months with a possibility of extension of up to 1 year.
