**Responsibilities**:
Perform the day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure that company expenditures & payments are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following**:

- Process FI and MM invoices with a strong attention to detail; not just data entry.
- Assign general ledger coding to invoice or validate coding already assigned.
- Understand what types of products, services and shipments should be taxed and select the correct tax codes.
- Generate payment batches/manual wires in rotation with teammates (or as assigned/needed)
- Review all types of invoices for appropriate documentation and approval(s) prior to payment.
- Ability to handle AP correspondence/inquiries and follow through to completion (i.e. do research and follow-up when necessary)
- Assist in month-end and annual sub ledger and general ledger closings
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting practices
- Other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Qualifications:
**As a prerequisite to become our AP Specialist, you should be or have**:

- Proficient in SAP. This is a must
- Intermediate level proficiency in Excel
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Fluency/Advanced language skills in Dutch and English
- Solution-based problem-solving skills with ability to take personal ownership of the role and key tasks
- A self-starter who requires mínimal supervision
- Apt to interact/communicate with employees and vendors effectively in a professional manner verbally and in writing
- Capable of working independently and as a team player in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Ability and willingness to welcome and adapt to change
- Excellent organizational skills
- Familiar with processing in foreign currencies
