**Context of the opportunity**:
- In order to carry out our engineering projects, the Energy Solution sector is looking for a
- **STRUCTURAL / STEEL FRAMEWORK MANAGER** (M/F/x).**Nature & scope**:
- The Structural Manager leads and organizes a team of Structural Engineers and Drafters in charge of the structural and/or civil works engineering of the products of the Energy Sector of John Cockerill. He/She is in charge of the coordination of the development of the technical documentation needed for the structural and/or civil work design of equipment for projects from the award of an order to the provisional acceptance of the equipment.- The duties of the Structural Manager are amongst others:
- Application of the Design Process,
- Organization of the structural team (Engineers and Drafters),
- Allocation of structural and/or civil works Engineers and Drafters to Business Lines for technical developments,
- Allocation of structural and/or civil works Engineers and Drafters to project teams for detailed design of the products during projects execution,
- Continuous improvement of the engineering process and tools as a Business Process Owner,
- Structural and/or civil works engineering of products for projects of the Sector,
- Optimization of the design,
- Writing of design and manufacturing specifications,
- Coordination of engineering subcontractors,
- Participation to technical negotiations with manufacturers,
- Possible involvement in Suppliers qualification process,
- Follow-up of manufacturers,
- Conformity of the technical documentation to applicable codes and norms,
- Respect of Customer specifications and requirements,
- Technical risks assessments,
- Application of standards and good practices,
- Delivery of the technical documentation to the Project Team according to the schedule and within specified budget,
- Deployment of the group strategy to his/her team,
- Promotion of quality, efficiency and productivity to meet business objectives,
- Development of competencies and soft skills of structural and/or civil works Engineers and Drafters,
- Definition of personnel’s objectives and their monitoring. Evaluation of personnel’s performances
**Profile**:
- The Structural Manager has a specialist profile. He/She also feels comfortable with people and process management. He/She must be available for temporary missions, sometimes on short notice, including international travels.- You have a technical university degree (or equivalent experience);
- You have a minimum of 10 years experience in the above mentioned missions, if possible in the energy market;
- You are able to analyse technical data on complex installations, to detect potential problems and to seek preventive solutions;
- You are able to work in a team, in a matrix organisation and therefore take responsibility for several projects in parallel;
- Your technical skills are:
- Understanding of the basic design of the products of the Sector
- Codes and norms (ASTM, ISO, EN, JIS, GB)
- Knowledge on steel material properties
- Structural calculation
- Civil works engineering
- Ability to read mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of the MS Office, particularly Excel, and of calculation and drawing softwares (SCIA and Tekla)
- Fluency in English AND French(reading, speaking, listening)
