Our Client is a global transport and logistics company, offering their clients innovative and sustainable logistics solutions. They provide sea and airfreight forwarding, contract logistics, road transportation and warehousing. They are present in over 100 countries.

For their BeLux East business, they are looking for a **Customs Manager ad interim**, pending the hiring for the permanent role.

**Function description**

As the Customs Manager you are responsible for organizing and coordinating the customs department
- You build a strong team, know how to motivate them and encourage a good group spirit.
- You take care of the individual guidance of employees.
- You can convey recognition and appreciation in an appropriate way, and let employees develop where necessary.
- You are responsible for planning and organizing work within the department so that current processes are correctly applied and executed.
- You strive for continuous process improvements through analysis of the current processes:

- Analysis to bottlenecks
- Taking the initiative and working out improvement proposals
- Implementation and follow-up by means of a step-by-step plan
- You introduce structured/ standardized working methods and ensure their correct use.
- You monitor the targets and performance of the customs team.
- You ensure a good information flow and have an open communication with and within your team.
- You coordinate and organize all assignments that are customs specific: Guidance during customs inspections & Monitoring, tracking and reporting of KPI's.

**Job requirements**
- You are in possession of a bachelor or master degree.
- Language skills: good knowledge of Dutch and English
- You can work with a warehouse management system
- Knowledge of customs and excise legislation and calculation of import duties, excise, VAT and other duties due.
- Knowledge for preparation of customs documents and certificates
- Experience: 2 years of managerial experience
