Role Purpose:
This role is responsible for collecting information from multiple sources and using it scout and analyse start-ups and their technology market potential.

You will use current trends, compare them with future expectations to make recommendations about what the next opportunities for Sibelco Ventures could exist or whether the opportunity in hand has the sizable market in the future.

You will actively support existing Ventures projects with strategic marketing and operational marketing activities and will actively contribute to investment cases building in close collaboration with other Sibelco functions like Strategy, M&A,T&I and all relevant stakeholders needed for the project.

**Responsibilities**:
1) Market Analysis- Run desk research and expert interviews in order to triangulate the data and built own view on total market size, addressable market and growth potential- Assess market S-curves, discontinuities and openings and build recommendations for the next opportunities search direction- Define industry structure (Porter’s 5 forces), supply/value-chain and customer journey analysis that explain profit pools, buyer behaviour (criticality grid) and leverage (Blue Oceans / Red Oceans)- Build and analyse value chain for existing and emerging markets- Assess Sibelco’s parenting advantage and position strengths for external opportunities - Porter’s 5 forces, SWOT / TOWS analysis- Understand competition landscape and build next best alternatives (NBA) recommendation for the opportunity in hand- Formulate differentiated value proposition and define milestones to validate it by/with the project team

2) Scouting & Modelling- Use open source and dedicated platforms to identify start-ups within the focused domain- Build comprehensive parameters to compare opportunities through prioritisation matrix- Build financial models to predict start-ups future cash flow based on the market analysis and set of assumptions build together with technology experts

About you:

- 2nd year Master's Student in Engineering & Commercial (business) Degree
- Good understanding of financial metrics
- Soft skills: positive attitude, team player, assertiveness
- International experience is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in English
