ISB - Swimming Instructor: Intensive Learning Support and Kindergarten (Part-Time)
Introduction to the position
The International School of Brussels (ISB) is a dynamic, inclusive learning organization committed to developing independent learners and international citizens. During the school day, ISB offers swimming opportunities for our Intensive Learning Programme as well as our kindergarten students. Swimming provides opportunities both personal and physical development for students, while equipping them with basic water safety. ISB is a safe, inclusive environment where students can learn new skills or perfect existing ones.
Key Accountabilities
ISB is currently looking for certified swimming Instructors for the ISB Intensive Learning Support Program and Kindergarten students, to begin in early September and continue throughout the school year.
Hours: on Thursdays from 8:30 -11.30.
Instructor positions are open to externals (through Interim Agency or free-lance).
Skills, aptitude and knowledge:
- A commitment to the provision of high-quality swimming instruction.
- A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training.
- Enthusiasm for working with children.
- Creativity to devise new ideas and engage the children in swimming.
- Previous experience with children aged from 3 to 11, in a voluntary or paid capacity.
- Interest in the care, learning and development of young children.
- Understanding of inclusion.
Personal Qualities:
- Excellent communication skills with children, colleagues and parents/carers.
- Patience, punctuality, reliability and trustworthiness.
- A positive approach to inclusive practice, with children, parents/carers
- Able to work in a small team
- Pleasant and enthusiastic disposition with a team spirit
- Sense of humor.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of Child Protection policies.
