Collection Specialist

_Varian is looking for a Collections Specialist who will be a member of our Finance and Accounting team. Monitors all cash and accounts receivable and produces management reports detailing these assets. Supports the local team with Trade Finance activities including the issuance of LCs and BGs, as needed. As Collections Specialist you will assist in treasury-related projects, as needed or directed._

**Responsibilities**:

- Primary responsibility will be managing all collections from distributors and all public and private customers for legal entities located in Belgium, Netherlands, France and Switzerland
- Billing for Varian Interventional Solutions business line
- Segregate and maintain separate files for all accounts receivable and provide any requested back-up documentation required to substantiate collection actions, accounting for collections, proofs of deposit and payments
- Prepare the periodic collection reports
- All bank lending and trade finance activities will be managed centrally at Corporate Treasury. If local bank guarantees are required and requested, provide all required information needed to Corporate Treasury to initiate, support and execute the process

Profile
- Proficiency with French and English languages. Dutch is a plus
- Proficiency with both IFRS related to core financial processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, etc.)
- Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software
- Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Strong accounting and analytical skills are a must
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships with Sales, Customers and Banking Partners
- Experience reading, understanding and enforcing contract terms
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to identify and resolve invoice disputes
- Good negotiation skills
- Results driven and well organized
- Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter and team player, able to work in a dynamic team environment to drive results
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
