Data Governance Manager

D-NETWORK is urgently looking for a DATA GOVERNANCE MANAGER for a customer based in Brussels.
The function is only open to a salary/ employee (CDI contract).
Our client is a big player of the health, expert in Belgian social security and insurance.
**Responsibilities**:
- As an Data Manager, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team comprising a Data Architect, Platform Engineer, Data Governance Manager, and Cloud Security Engineer.
- The department includes four development teams: Cloud Operations (your team), Data Engineering, Advanced Analytics, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
- To maximize delivered value, these teams are organized into squads, each focused on specialized areas.
- The Cloud Operations team is a transversal team which works with every squad and external stakeholders.
- Your role will make a contribution to overcome challenges for the department, which is to bring maturity in the software development lifecycle establishing guidelines, frameworks and quality assurance.
- The role is to serve Data Manager.
- You will serve as a cornerstone in propelling our organization's data platform forward, enabling sustained business velocity.
- Leveraging their extensive expertise, they will deliver actionable insights and facilitate informed decision-making across all business teams, driving efficiency and growth through data-driven initiatives.
**Required Skills**:
- A bachelor/master's degree in computer science or equivalent through experience.
- More than 5 years of experience with Data management and governance.
- Deep understanding of data privacy laws and regulations (GDPR, EU AI Act..).
- Experience with data cataloging tools, metadata management, and data lineage tracking.
- Experience in growing the knowledge of employees on data governance best practices.
- Ability to conduct thorough audit and reviews of data governance practices.
- Broad knowledge of data quality, data integration, data lifecycle, databases and data warehousing solutions.
- Fluent in English and/or French.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Experience with data cataloging tools, metadata management, and data lineage tracking.
