**The role**
Cerba Research provides a one-stop clinical laboratory approach on a global level for more and more complex trials. Hereto, Cerba Research collaborates with different lab partners and subcontracted labs that need to be integrated within the Cerba Research network. At the same time, new diagnostic solutions need to be incorporated as well.
As Associate Scientific Solutions Expert you work together with the Scientific Solutions Expert, to work out procedures and processes to address any challenges when new labs are on-boarded and/or when complex results need to be captured.
You are the primary contact to find solutions whenever there are problems/issues/questions, that are not yet covered by Standard Operating Procedures and/or Working Instructions, about capturing and processing data from the different labs and subsequent reporting of data to the clients.
As Associate Scientific Solutions Expert you are the backup of the Scientific Solutions Expert.
**Your Tasks** and **Responsibilities**
- Facilitate communication channels and provide internal/external guidance in case a new partner lab or subcontracted lab is added to the Cerba Research’s network or if an existing lab will be more intensively connected to the Cerba Research’s Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
- Work out the most appropriate method of data exchange between Cerba Research and the lab, taking into account the capabilities of the lab; the restraints of the CTMS; and the complexity of the type of results.
- Create different procedures & instructions to capture results, that are not captured on-line, from labs as needed.
- Create explanatory documentation/training for non-science departments on how specific (complex) analyses are designed and performed at Cerba Research and the involved labs.
- Identify possible areas of improvement, at all levels, in how we work with the associated labs, ensuring best alignment.
- Identify and assign LOINC terms for the reported analyses for data transfer files.
- Create ‘ad hoc’ solutions to address questions, problems, issues from other departments (Project Management; Science Department [Scientific Liaisons; FlowCytometry]; Sample Handling Department; Senior Management;...).
- Address any issues & tasks that are not (yet) assigned to other functions and/or help out other departments as needed.
**Qualifications (Education and Experience)**
- Master degree (or PhD) in Sciences or equivalent experience
- Solid understanding of a wide variety of various clinical laboratory testing (both from a scientific point of view and from a database management point of view)
- Solid understanding of different processes that are applicable within Cerba Research; with partner labs and subcontractor labs; and with customers (both present, but also historical)
- Solid understanding of Quality Control / Quality Assurance in the context of the clinical laboratory testing
- Able to design and implement solutions for various Cerba Research related activities
- Able to take autonomous decisions as needed
- Able to work under pressure on variety of different topics, all at the same time
- Able to write clear instructions in understandable language for different end-users
- Flexible in dealing with problems
- Analytical mindset, punctual and having an eye for detail
- You like to work in a team and you are always ready to help and support internal and external customers
- You speak and write fluent in Dutch and English
