Role and Responsibilities
The Flight Instructor performs ground and flight instructions to all students enrolled in the CAE ATO program. The scope of his/her work will be primarily on Multi Engine training (VFR & IFR) up to the CPL level, although this scope can be further expanded to the PPL level with SE, SE/IR and FI training (if FI is appropriately qualified).
The FI works alongside his/her colleagues and collaborates to ensure timely execution of the training program, safeguarding safety, training quality and experience at all times. The FI plays an important role in educating students in accordance with CAE Inc. and federal/locally set policies, guidelines and standards. The FI will also be expected to work in accordance with the CAE FiiN standards at all times.
**Requirements**:
- Must hold at least an EASA Commercial Pilot Licence (Airplane) with valid and unexpired MEP (Land) and associated Instrument Rating.
- Must hold EASA Flight Instructor (Airplane) rating with at least CPL, Night, ME & IR/ME extensions or hold IRI and CRI ratings.
- Must have at least 1500 hours Total Time and 200 hours IFR (excluding simulator) and 500 hours Multi Engine (of which 250 hours must be on MEP(land) airplanes).
- Must have the right to live and work in the E.U
- Experience as a Flight Instructor Instructor or Flight Examiner is preferred.
- Possess a high attention to detail in all tasks responsible for (Flying ME in Instrument Meteorological Conditions, completing student reports etc.).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
- Strong customer focus and service ethos.
- Ability to communicate effectively at several levels (supervisor, peer, subordinate, customer)
- Understand and value cultural diversity (daily working together with customers from broadly varying cultures).
Additional:
- The role will be performed mostly outside. Protective clothing and/or devices must be worn whilst airside.
- The position may require sitting for prolonged periods during simulator activities (desktop, monitor) and flying activities.
- The Flight Instructor will be required to perform tasks including, but not limited to airplane refueling, towing and pushing aircraft and performing airplane walkaround duties (preflight inspections).
- Domestic travel may be required on occasional basis (between training locations in Brussels and Antwerp).
- International travel (excluding during Flight Training activities) may be required on remote occasions.
