Crisis Group is seeking a bright and motivated individual with a keen eye for detail who is immediately available to contribute to the work of a major, foreign policy-oriented non-governmental organisation.
Working in close cooperation with the members of the communications team, you will proofread Crisis Group publications, including reports, statements and other materials, and contribute to our monthly CrisisWatch bulletin. You will also assist the Senior Editor with other tasks as needed. We are looking for a person who takes pride in being meticulous.
**Specific responsibilities**:
- Proofreading Crisis Group English
- and French-language reports, briefings, commentaries and other materials, with primary attention to grammar and mechanics;
- Ensuring that publications adhere to house style;
- Contributing to production of CrisisWatch, Crisis Group’s global conflict tracker, including through drafting country entries under tight deadlines;
- Responding to enquiries regarding publications, and providing additional support as needed to the research, publications and communications units;
- Other duties as assigned.
**Requirements include**:
- One to two years of proofreading and/or copy-editing experience;
- Native-level English and strong French required;
- Ability to concentrate on tight deadlines and a commitment to accuracy;
- IT skills, including in MS Word;
- Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team;
- Authorisation to work in the EU.
