**The Role**
As a Global VAT Analyst reporting to the Global VAT Manager, you will assist in a wide range of VAT projects. This includes coordinating various global VAT-related activities to benefit Group affiliates located in different countries/regions (EMEA, APAC, LatAM, Canada).
Responsibilities may involve providing ad-hoc assistance/advice on the correct VAT treatment of operations/transactions or specific services, aiding in tax audits, and drafting recommendation manuals on internal processes while liaising with tax teams and external advisors.
**What you will do**
- Provide support to colleagues across the organization in daily activities.
- Gather VAT business requirements from various departments such as Procurement and AP.
- Analyze indirect tax implications within the supply chain and design VAT solutions.
- Assist in overseeing the VAT process, delivering technical training, and developing materials, documentation, manuals, and guidelines.
- Participate in cross-functional projects.
- Aid local finance teams in handling VAT audits and disputes.
- Assist in VAT registration across jurisdictions and collaborate with IT on configuration, testing, and maintenance of VAT functionality within the ERP/tax engine.
- Ensure systems, documentation (e.g., transportation documentation, combined nomenclature), compliance, and reporting are established and lead continuous improvement projects.
- Assist in coordination and administrative activities, including providing periodic reports to Directors and Managers of VI BV.
**About You**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Tax, Law, Commerce, Business, or Statistics.
- 1-4 years of VAT experience and a willingness to expand into a global VAT role.
- Experience with ERP transactional processes, tax components, and tax engine operation.
- Organized, analytical, and methodical with meticulous attention to detail and strong research skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in teams with a hands-on, collaborative attitude.
- Proven capacity to take ownership, drive change, and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
- Fluent in English with demonstrated proficiency in business communication, both oral and written.
