The J&J Supply Chain is an integrated, global supply chain that serves the needs of the 1 billion people who use J&J products each and every day around the world. We manufacture more than 26 billion product units per year, from raw component sourcing to end product distribution as efficiently and effectively as possible with high quality, compliance and service performance. Our supply chain organization makes up 45% of all J&J employees, and includes 125 internal manufacturing plants, manages 581 external manufacturers, utilizes 459 distribution centers, partners with over 3700 direct suppliers, produces over 300,000 sku’s.
The Digital Identification & Traceability team is part of the Digital & Data Science team within Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain. We provide end-to-end enterprise digital capabilities to enable connectivity across our supply chain in a compliant, effective, and efficient way. The Digital Identification & Traceability (DI&T) team is responsible for bridging the physical to our digital supply chain, delivering value by developing and leveraging our digital capabilities to engage with our customers, and shaping internal and external environments with our expertise. We work closely with different functions across Johnson & Johnson globally to enhance our customer experience and drive efficiency.
Related to this responsibility is ensuring that Johnson & Johnson is compliant with GS1 standards and Serialization and Unique Device Identification (UDI) regulations worldwide. This role is focused on driving Serialization capabilities and compliance worldwide.
**Role Description**:
Reporting to the Director, Serialization & Traceability and Unique Device Identification (UDI), this associate will be responsible for leading the scoping activities for new UDI regulations and modifications to existing regulations. The Manager will work across all of J&J’s business segments (Pharma, Consumer and Medical Devices) and across functions (e.g., IT, Data, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain etc.). This associate will lead the translation of regulations globally into actionable steps to ensure compliance and manage the activities to scope the cost and effort to achieve compliance.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Own and lead the ongoing end-to-end efforts to understand compliance regulations globally
- Lead cross functional coordination of all scoping activities (e.g., business requirements, cost estimation, capital appropriation request development etc.)
- Engage Regulatory Affairs and Operating Companies to interpret components of the requirements and develop processes to develop future state processes that drive compliance to Serialization regulations
- Partner with regional teams to prioritize regional portfolio for implementations and drive regional/local engagement.
- Identify technologies to improve operational processes, data quality and customer compliance
- Ensure all Work Instructions are aligned for operational excellence according to GxP.
- Augment and maintain comprehensive metrics and track issues, problem solving resolutions, contingencies plans, and timelines to communicate to stakeholders.
- Serve as SME for key stakeholder partners including IT, Customer Service, Distribution, Customers, Master Data, Internal and External Manufacturers, Trade, etc.
- Support global leadership team in activities related to global strategy, tactical actions, and financial management.
- Represent the DI&T programs within the local business, IT, and supply chain organizations.
- Develop, align with business, and execute opportunities to leverage these capabilities to deliver value, to J&J and its partners, beyond customer compliance.
- Keep abreast of new/existing Serialization regulations and pending regulations for other countries
