**Open position for a scientific collaborator**
The Research Group of _In Vitro_ Toxicology and Dermato-Cosmetology (IVTD) at the
Department of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel
(VUB) is a dynamic research team that for many years has been playing a pioneering role in the development of non-animal methods for the safety assessment of chemical substances. As part of these scientific and third party activities, IVTD is looking for a motivated person (M/F) who can provide scientific and administrative support in the field of toxicology and risk assessment.
**Job description**
- Support scientific work that is primarily concerned with human health risk assessments of chemical substances (mainly cosmetic ingredients) and/or consumer products. This includes the preparation of safety dossiers and scientific reports, conducting literature searches and reviews, interpreting safety data, and accurate maintenance of a toxicological database.
- You will be involved in the yearly organization of an international safety course of cosmetics.
- Administrative tasks include contact with companies, preparing letters, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
**Profile**
- Having a master degree in toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, veterinary sciences, (bio)medical sciences, bioengineering sciences, (bio)chemistry or equivalent.
- Areas of particular relevance are regulatory toxicology, risk assessment of chemicals and products, _in vitro_ toxicology, next generation risk assessment.
- Experience in the domain of risk assessment.
- Expertise with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good written and oral skills, especially in English.
- Enthusiastic, dynamic, flexible, accurate and able to work independently and in a team.
