Overview:
**KEMIN ANIMAL NUTRITION AND HEALTH - EMENA** is searching for the
**KEMIN GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM an **Innovation Associate

This Innovation Internship is part
**of the 2 year Kemin Graduate Development Program** where the trainee will support Kemin’s commercial team by offering unique value through laboratory support by means of tailored and customer centric insight sharing.

**As trainee
- Innovation Associate you will be multi-dimensionally trained in different scientific techniques** including chromatography (LC-MS and GC-MS), enzymology and digestion modelling and various business processes. As part of the
**service innovation team**, you will work in close collaboration with different customer facing functions including business and product managers, technical service managers and sales. Insights gathered during the trainees period from the experiments will be
**gathered in scientific papers and presentations which will be shared globally** during i
**nternational scientific conferences** hosted by Kemin or relevant industry partners.

**The topic of the project and therefore the scope of the job focusses on the development and implementation of in-vitro technologies** to expand the scope of activities of the Customer Laboratory Services team which is part of the Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health group for Europe, the Middle-East and North-Africa

**Responsibilities**:
**What you’ll be doing**:

- Build expertise with respect to the nutrition of animals, the digestive tract and microbiome of production livestock.
- Develop multiple reactor set-ups including parameter control and automation.
- Validate the models relative to in-vivo studies and prepare them for regular use in service of the Kemin customer.
- Collaborate with the rest of the product and service innovation teams to expand the scope of the current activities and build relevant experience within these teams as well.
- Participate to internal and external events to gain experience and communicate our learnings with the broader research community. This means participating to internal and external conferences and events, both in Belgium, Europe and Globally.

Qualifications:

- Master Bio-Engineering, Master Industrial Engineering Biochemistry, Master Biology or equivalent with a demonstrable knowledge of (gut) microbiology, cell culturing and fermentation processes.
- Problem solving skills, hands-on mentality and creative mind-set;
- Knowledge of a broad range of lab technologies;
- Computer literate and knowledgeable of digital software solutions;
- Time management and organization skills to assure on time delivery of results to our customers
- Team player
- Out-of-the-box thinker
- Self-motivated and persistent
