Legal Systems Manager

We are currently looking for a Legal Systems Manager to join our Legal team.- The position can be based in our office in Ghent, Belgium or in Boston, US.- We are also open for remote work with regular travel to our office.The Legal Systems Manager is responsible for the overall design, implementation, functioning and use of the company’s key legal systems, including primarily its contract lifecycle management systems and processes. The company has recently implemented a state-of-the-art contract lifecycle management tool, and the Legal Systems Manager will take on the role of maximally leveraging this tool to increase overall legal process efficiency and speed to the benefit of the broader argenx business. The role will report to the Legal Operations Director, and will work in close collaboration with the Legal Management Assistants to design, implement, update, maintain and improve the company’s contract lifecycle management systems and processes, as well as other key legal systems. The Legal Systems Manager will proof and update/improve existing system processes, design and implement new ones, and define a future roadmap to deliver company wide benefits from the contract lifecycle management tool.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Translates legal systems needs of key stakeholders into a short and long term vision and strategy for contract lifecycle management systems and processes at the company- Translates strategy into actionable project phases and workstreams for the short and long term, including core functionalities to roll-out, process flows to update/implement/improve and future system implementations to initiate- Responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of defined workstreams- Manages key relationships, both internal (including the global Legal, Compliance and IP team, business information systems team and key business users of legal systems) and external (including software vendors and implementation partners)- Manages and controls project budgets and timelines to deliver the strategy- Defines access and training processes, coordinates system maintenance and improvements- Responsible for internal communication on project strategy, delivery, timelines and impact- Manages collection and processing of user feedback, translates feedback into actionable improvement plans- Oversees system and contract data management and governance- Explores and proposes use of new technological innovations such as AI powered tools to further streamline and enhance legal processes
Desired skills & experience:
- Degree or certification in legal, economics, IT or related field
- Project management experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in, or closely with, a legal team, inhouse or at a law firm
- Proven experience in managing the implementation of complex cross-functional systems in a global environment, including budget management
- Proven experience working with contract lifecycle management software, experience working with Icertis software is a plus
- Passion for innovation, data quality and digitizing legal processes
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
- Experience working and leading in a global workplace, driving strong team work and collaboration
