**Wil jij bijdragen aan de geografische ondersteuning van oefeningen en operaties binnen Defensie?**
Voor elke oefening of operatie is geografische informatie (onder andere topografische data, hoogtegegevens, geo-referenceerde lucht
- en satellietbeelden) van essentieel belang. Om de oefeningen/operaties optimaal te laten verlopen, dient de geleverde ondersteuning/service dan ook van uitstekende kwaliteit te zijn.
- Je staat in voor het **de kwaliteitscontrole (technische keuring) van verschillende geografische producten** geproduceerd door uw collega’s, het NGI of internationale partners. Deze controle gebeurt visueel of inhoudelijk en is gebaseerd op de beschikbare productspecificaties en standaarden. Je beschikt hiervoor over een uitgebreide bibliotheek aan geografische informatie en performante IT-middelen, waaronder GIS-workstations.
- Je zorgt voor de **correcte implementatie van productietemplates** en** houdt ze up-to-date** wanneer de gerelateerde nomen evolueren.
- Binnen je team wordt verwacht dat je de **activiteiten kan optimaliseren en stroomlijnen voor een optimale service** naar de klanten toe.
- De verdere digitalisering van systemen in Defensie en het internationale karakter van operaties maken de geografische ondersteuning complexer. Om uw **kennis up-to-date te houden** neem je deel aan **nationale en internationale conferenties en vergaderingen**.
- Jouw **advies **zal ook regelmatig gevraagd worden binnen uw expertise domein opdat Defensie de juiste keuzes zou kunnen maken.
- Je bent **op de hoogte van de geldende standaarden** op het gebied van** geospatiale informatie** en je bewaakt de toepassing van deze standaarden binnen je dienst en binnen Defensie.
- Je **begeleidt projecten m.b.t. de opmaak van nieuwe cartografische producten**. Je verzoent de wensen van de gebruikers van de kaarten met de technische haalbaarheid vanuit het oogpunt van de kaartproducent. Hierbij bewaak je te allen tijde de kwaliteit van het eindproduct.
