Wij zijn een pionier in batterijmaterialen die de prestaties en het rijbereik van elektrische voertuigen verhogen. Onze materialen verzekeren ook een langere levensduur van batterijen voor draagbare elektronica. Om onze klanten nog beter presterende batterijen te helpen produceren, mogen we niet stilstaan. We moeten nieuwe methoden ontdekken, nieuwe oplossingen bedenken en nieuwe ideeën ontwikkelen. En dan kom jij in beeld.

**Wat jij zal doen**

Met het oog op de huidige marktovergang naar een zeer grote volumemarkt zal procestechnologie essentieel zijn voor het veiligstellen van wat ons succesvol maakt.

Afhankelijk van de specifieke functie en de behoeften binnen de organisatie kan de tijdsbesteding volledig verschuiven van proces R&D naar process engineering of omgekeerd. Samen met R&D ontwikkel je gezamenlijk proces R&D projecten binnen een technologiegebied. Als specialist is het jouw taak om nieuwe procesprojecten te identificeren, te definiëren en op te zetten, maar ook om projecten voor nieuwe procestechnologieën te behandelen en te ontwikkelen. Het doel is de opschaling van het proces naar grootschalige industrialisatie. Umicore moedigt innovaties aan, dus je bent altijd op zoek naar nieuwe, opwindende en baanbrekende technologieën Als team mentor & manager ontwikkel en betrek je je team op de best mogelijke manier

Als Process engineer vertaal je procescriteria (R&D) naar gedetailleerde procesdocumentatie voor de CAPEX projecten. Binnen een specifiek procestechnologiegebied draagt de Process Development Manager actief bij door:

- Het ontwikkelen van nieuwe procestechnologieën en deze te industrialiseren
- Het verbeteren van bestaande procestechnologieën
- Assisteren bij het opzetten en implementeren van een nauwkeurig procesdocumentatiesysteem
- Bijdragen aan de definitie van de strategie en de bijbehorende technologie en kosten roadmaps
- Aansturen van de proces engineering ter ondersteuning van CAPEX-projecten
- Flow sheet optimalisaties

**Wie we zoeken**
- Doctoraat of master in chemie, fysica, materiaalkunde, engineering,
- Moet (proces)ervaring hebben binnen het domein van R&D projectmanagement, procestechnologieontwikkeling en/of process engineering van procesontwerp (papierstudie) tot realisatie (opstarten fabriek)
- Kennis van procesveiligheid
- Goede praktische omgang met Engels
- In staat om beslissingen te nemen voor jezelf en je team.
- Analytisch en kritisch
- In staat om de intenties van R&D te begrijpen en deze om te zetten in realistische processen
