One of our clients, active in the leasing sector, is actively looking for a Chief Accountant.
**Description**
As a Chief Accountant you will be responsible for a small team of two (assistant) accountants. You will have the following responsibilities, in collaboration with the Finance Manager and Financial controller:
- General accounting: You will supervise and monitor the entry and the reconciliation of customer and supplier accounting records as well as payments. You are responsible for the accurate accounting and closures of journal entries and you will analyse the chart of accounts in order to prepare monthly closings and year-end financial statements.
- Financial Statements: You will prepare balance sheets & income statements and calculate the income before tax & corporate income tax
- Cash flow management: You will supervise bank reconciliation records and stablish daily relationships with banking institutions. Negotiations on banking conditions and financing request are included.
- Relations with statutory auditors: You will manage activities related to the audit of accounts and justify the main restatements of financial closure
- Cost accounting: You will define the cost accounting settings adapted to the activity and the analyses useful to managers, support departments and management control. You are responsible for correct use of analytical parameters of accounting records and you will edit analysis reports highlighting useful indicators and ratios
**Profile**
- You have a Bachelor or Master degree and you have minimum 5 years experience in a Chief Accountant position
- You are fluent in Dutch or French speaking with a good knowledge of English. Knowledge of the other language is a plus
- You work pro-active, well organized, structured and accurate
- You have an excellent command of MS Excel
- You have a hands-on, positive attitude & you are service-oriented
- You demonstrate flexibility and efficiency
