What the job is about

Do you love language and writing, but also find the software and IT world an interesting place? In the role of Technical Writer, you can actually combine both.

As a technical writer you **write, review and maintain** a wide variety of documents related to our software. This goes from installation guides, end-user documentation to training material and more.

This means you will:

- Work closely with the **business consultants and software engineers** to gather information and knowledge.
- Understand our product and translate this to **clear, concise and user-friendly documentation.**
- ** Improve **the incoming and backlog of** API documentation.**
- ** Guard **the documentation requirements and needs in general.

You’ll be part of the **training and documentation team**, a small but growing team with **lots of possibilities and responsibility.**

Your interests and skills

You have an **independent and proactive attitude**, so you can take ownership of your work and approach the stakeholders involved.

**Communication skills**, both written and spoken are very important. Besides that, **an analytical mind** is needed to understand the product and translate the given information in a well-structured way.

Having **good time management** will help you in your job, because you’ll be following the two-weekly sprint planning of the software development cycle. You will also have to take other deadlines in regard.

Besides that:

- ** Proficiency in English** is a must. Proficiency in other languages as Dutch, French or German is a plus.
- Some **familiarity with software development** and technical concepts such as API, SDLC, software architecture, Javadoc,would be great. But we expect **at least a broad interest** that crosses the technical and business boundaries.
- Experience working within a **docs-as-code workflow** (e.g., GitHub) and/or with an API-based SaaS product is a plus.
