Technical & Compliance Director

Functieomschrijving
- To ensure efficient operation of the Product Safety and Compliance operations in Europe and our Asian Excellence Centre (AEC) (China)
- To ensure efficient operation of the Tienen (Belgium) and Newhaven (UK) laboratories
- To provide a technical support service to all Sylvania EMEA businesses, customers, and suppliers
- To develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all technologies relevant to lighting
- To develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of relevant component suppliers and their products/services
- To develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all standards, directives and regulations relevant to lighting
- To participate actively in the Technical Committees and the development of standards
- Provision of information to support commercial tenders, risk assessments and DSFs (Deal Submission Forms)
- Assist with product investigations and root cause analyses
- Organize and liaise with external expert bodies to obtain testing, certification, risk analyses, investigations, etc.
- Signature/approval of EU and UK Declarations of Conformity, product releases, Product Change Requests (PCRs)
- To be proactive in design and development phases for new products (including participation in FMEAs, Technical Review Reports, etc.), to guide on product compliance, and minimize time to market by preventing the late discovery of non-conformances
- Provision of insights into installation, maintenance, re-use, recycling, electrical installation compatibility, etc.
- All decisions and recommendations to be made with a commercial awareness, not only of customer requirements, but also competitive aspects and the potential impacts on Sylvania's business
- Participate in NPD Gate Reviews
- Manage, develop, and train Compliance and Laboratory team staff, and staff from other departments as necessary

Profiel
- 8+ years' proven experience working in the development of lighting solutions
- Full and detailed understanding of LED and associated technologies including design, manufacturing, supply chain and marketing
- Detailed knowledge of international electric, electronics regulatory and safety requirements and all relevant lighting legislation and standards relating to LED solutions sold in Europe and beyond
- Experienced in building, managing, and leading a diverse team
- Process driven with the ability to implement and maintain rigorous control
- Passionate about excellent product design, engineering, and quality
- Customer focused with excellent commercial and business acumen
- Educated to degree level or above in an engineering discipline, preferably in electronics/electrical engineering
- English language essential, other languages desirable
- Excellent communication style and ability to work at all levels of the organization
- able to speak in front of large groups of people and able to represent Feilo Sylvania in internal/external seminars and lighting events
- Available for travel within Europe, Middle East, and Asia

- Preventieve of correctieve onderhoudswerken organiseren, plannen en opvolgen
- De uitrusting wijzigen of aanpassen volgens de wettelijke of productievereisten (productiesnelheid, nieuwe producten,...)
- De technische documentatie van machines of installaties actualiseren (constructeursrichtlijnen, historiek van defecten, wetgeving,...)
