**Position**

We are looking for a Senior Consultant (Account Director / Associate Director-level) with ~7 years of professional experience in EU public affairs & corporate communications with a focus on healthcare, to join our Brussels team.

**Profile**:

- Knowledge of the healthcare industry and issues at EU level, and a broad understanding of the local landscape and trade media in some key EU markets. Specific knowledge of the UK healthcare landscape would be an asset.
- Proven experience in driving corporate communication campaigns for pharmaceutical companies or health industry associations. Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical sector and how it operates is essential.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written. Excellent knowledge of some of the following languages would be an asset: Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch or French.
- Solid understanding of the EU policy-making process, and how healthcare intertwines with other sectors such as e.g. digital.
- You are comfortable with talking to media about complex issues and have demonstrated experience in achieving broad national/pan-EU coverage.
- Your personal network includes EU (healthcare) policymakers and/or Brussels Beltway journalists.
- You are highly responsive, thorough, conscientious, and demonstrate keen attention to detail and a “can do” attitude.
- You are commercially driven and ambitious, and think outside the box in terms of new business opportunities (in healthcare and beyond).
- You have proven ability to manage, mentor and inspire staff and develop talented teams.
- You have a strong understanding and knowledge of social media (in particular LinkedIn and Twitter) and how to use it in a professional environment.
- You have demonstrated experience in the organisation of virtual or hybrid events.

You will be responsible for providing day-to-day leadership, sound management and strategic direction in both the development of new strands of business activity and the serving of existing high-level and prestigious clients in healthcare and other sectors.

Responsibilities will include:

- Provide senior counsel and strategic advice to clients.
- Successfully manage client account budgets and team workloads, ensuring appropriate levels of account profitability.
- Contribute actively to the overall new business strategy and operations of the company.
- Provide leadership, direction, support, encouragement and opportunities for professional development to members of your client and new business teams.
- Promote the Portland brand in the marketplace.
