Corporate Affairs Director Zone Europe

As a Corporate Affairs Director you will manage, protect and enhance AB InBev’s reputation with stakeholders; protect AB InBev’s commercial license to operate; and work towards the best possible business environment for AB InBev’s operations across the Europe Zone territory by bringing the outside in; with a strong primary focus on the European Union (EU). Achieve this by leading the zone Europe Corporate Affairs strategy and its implementation.
The role:
- You will develop and own an overarching Zone Europe corporate affairs strategy to support the delivery of the AB InBev Zone Europe business plan and the delivery of the global corporate affairs strategic priorities. By evaluating EU policy priorities and regulatory developments you will translate this into a clear risk & opportunities assessment.
- In addition, you will coordinate the corporate affairs objective to drive corporate reputation, entailing you will leverage and drive our purpose and ESG agenda further in coordination with other functions, find new ways to communicate them to stakeholders and the broader press. This entails as well you will coordinate between the local spokespersons in the markets and our Global Communications team.
- You support the global corporate affairs team in their outreach to the EU and other relevant global institutions from a Zone Europe perspective.
- You will maintain and build relationships with key political stakeholders to give visibility to our positions and find engagement opportunities to bring AB InBev’s strategy to a wider audience of opinion elite.
- You will participate and represent AB InBev in a range of EU industry and trade association bodies like the Brewers of Europe, AIM and Food Drink Europe to further advance AB InBev’s objectives.
- You will develop cutting edge approaches to give further impact and visibility to AB InBev’s public affairs strategy, and to establish clear thought-leadership among the beer and wider alcohol beverage industry.
- You will be strategic adviser to Europe Zone and business unit management and provide ad-hoc support across the business when issues and crises relating to AB InBev’s brands and corporate reputation arise. This includes delivering flawless issues management.
- You will be managing and coaching a team of 3 FTEs.
Who we’re looking for:
- A proven track record (min 8 years) with the EU Institutions and processes, excellent advocacy, and campaigning skills. (in-house, consultancy, trade association or relevant experience in one of the EU institutions)
- Master Degree in Law, Political Sciences, History, Economics, or equivalent
- Comprehensive understanding of the EU political system and process and well networked within Brussels and key EU institutions
- Strong analytical skills and rigor - able to support analysis and recommendations with robust data
- Strategic thinker with hands on experience of developing corporate affairs strategies to support the delivery of business strategy in a fast paced environment
- Highly skilled in managing complex topics and ability to multitask by excellent priorizitation and time management skills
- Excellent communicator, who loves being at the frontline of the business, with experience in the area of external communication and with accompanying c-level business leaders in the area of corporate affairs, entailing a good level of business acumen
- Excellent knowledge of English language (both written and spoken), other European languages preferred
- A natural leader and team player with a global mindset who is willing to work across public affairs, advocacy and communications disciplines, geographies and functions. Ability to successfully manage global/local complexities
