Risk management is een van de belangrijkste pijlers van het bankieren. Als onderdeel van het Risk Modelling-team bij Belfius Bank heb jij de mogelijkheid om dieper in te gaan op de kwantitatieve analyse en om nuttig gebruik te maken van data-analyse, machine learning-technieken en procesoptimalisatie.
Er bestaan ook enorme mogelijkheden om mee te werken aan belangrijke projecten en frequent in contact te komen met senior executives (zoals d CEO, de CFO), en als onderdeel van een ruimer team zal jouw werk een impact hebben op de strategie van de bank.
Jouw toekomstige taken:
Binnen de afdeling Risk Modelling is het team verantwoordelijk voor het kwantificeren van de diverse risico’s die de bank neemt: het kredietrisico (IRB-risicoparameters, krediet economisch kapitaal/ECAP), provisionering (IFRS9), ALM-risico’s (voorafbetaling, rentevoet), niet-financiële risico’s (ESG, operationeel risico) en algemene risico’s (stresstesting).
Het team ondersteunt ook andere risicobeheersafdelingen bij het uitwerken stand brengen van kwantitatieve tools ter ondersteuning van het beslissingsproces (bv. goedkeuring van kredieten of early warning-systemen).Het team is belast met het globaal beheer van de modellen en begeleidt hen doorheen hun hele levenscyclus: ontwikkeling en verbetering van modellen, ondersteuning van de implementatie, geregeld testen en onderhoud. Het team interageert actief met de teams Credit Risk Management en Strategic Risk Management om te zorgen voor het afdoend kwantificeren van de risico’s en het aangepast integreren van de modellen in de risk
- en de businessprocessen.

De ideale kandidaat is nieuwsgierig en analytisch ingesteld en heeft een natuurlijke gedrevenheid om het beter te doen dan de onmiddellijke vereisten van het project en om hindernissen te overwinnen.
Je beschikt over een master in een wetenschappelijk domein zoals wiskunde, fysica, engineering, economie enz. (of een gelijkwaardige werkervaring). Je beschikt over uitgesproken kennis van wiskunde en statistiek en over degelijke vaardigheden op het vlak van data mining en data-analyse. Je beschikt over IT-/programmeervaardigheden met bij voorkeur Python (maar ook Java of C++, Visual Basics) en technische data management-vaardigheden met bij voorkeur SQL (maar ook Oracle, Access). Eerdere ervaring inzake Financiën/Verzekeringen en gevorderd statistiek, econometrie en in stochastische modelvorming of kredietrisicomodelvorming is een pluspunt.
Je bent oplossingsgericht en kan theoretische vereisten omzetten in pragmatische technische oplossingen. Je bent in staat zelfstandig te werken en initiatief te nemen, en je bent ook bereid om je in te passen in een team en in een groter project. Je bent in staat helder te communiceren over ingewikkelde onderwerpen.Je bent in staat vlot te communiceren (zowel mondeling als schriftelijk) in het Engels, alsook in het Nederlands en/of het Frans (als werktaal).
