**Duties**:
This position is a rover assistant. The incumbent provides office management assistance to various sections when there is a staffing need. Duties vary based on location and nature of assignment. Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Provides clerical and administrative support to the Bilat and USEU missions, in offices within and outside of controlled access areas (CAA).
- Composes, types, or edits a variety of correspondence, such as letters, office policies, acceptance of invitations, memoranda, reports, forms, cables, etc. from handwritten drafts, oral instructions, or previous examples. Proofreads for typographical errors, grammar, punctuation, capitalization and spelling.
- Follows proper agency format requirements and ensures correct transmission procedures. For Department of State work, applies TAGS and terms, and maintains archives (paper and electronic) in accordance with department policy, and purges files on an on-going basis. Manages classified and unclassified publications and other material in a manner for easy retrieval.
Attends meetings as required.
- Assists with VIP visits as needed.
- Receives and handles mail, routing items to appropriate personnel for action and notifying supervisor of impending deadlines.
- Prepares supply and procurement requests.
- Receives visitors or telephone calls, responds to routine inquiries or refers them to appropriate officer.
- Arranges meetings and conferences, including room reservations for officers and for visitors.
- Makes travel arrangements for officers; including hotel reservations and transportation arrangements.
- Prepares travel and representational vouchers for processing.
- Drafts cables/pulls daily cable traffic if appropriate.
- Escorts visitors around the compound, and escorts cleaners, repair teams, gardeners, etc., as needed within the CAA space.

**Qualifications and Evaluations**:

- Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: One year of clerical/secretarial experience.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Critical thinking, organization are a must. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (ideally also Powerpoint, Publisher, and OneNote), Adobe PDF, typing, general office equipment.
- Education Requirements:
Completion of secondary school.
- Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Fluency in English. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Business communications skills including drafting routine correspondence;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Flexibility in adapting to a non-routine workday with numerous interruptions;
- General office and administrative skills.
