The Legal Advisor handles all law-related matters that a company encounters within a country or cluster of similar countries (i.e. Benelux), including: Conducting research on different laws and regulations in various geographic and political environments. Drafts legal documents as required by the company, based on situations and clients
Functions as Subject Matter Expert within the country in relation to law changes and adaptations proactively informs the group legal team on potential impact of the changes on group policies. In addition is very aware of the country specific particularities
Supports the maintenance of the Etex’s official housekeeping locally by providing input within the area of responsibility (official and legal documents and records) according to the principles of corporate governance and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the position holder will be leading 2 teammates
**Key responsibilities**
**Strategy Development**:
- Contributes to the develop legal strategies within the own geographically area
- Proactively investigates changes in local law and advises on recommended changes and risk mitigation.
**Legal Support**:
- Provides local legal support in strategic important files related to M&A, Compliance, risk mitigation, divestments, and business transformations within the respective region.
**Corporate Housekeeping**
- Is responsible for the full legal housekeeping within the geographic area ensuring compliant housekeeping of all group companies.
- Maintains and safeguards Etex official and legal documents as well as those of defined list of subsidiaries linked to the region. Updates the central team on critical changes.
- Ensures that official and legal documents of all subsidiaries are maintained and safeguarded on a local level according to legal and good governance requirements in support of the central legal team.
**Experience and knowledge**
Education: Graduate in Law
Language skills: English & French (fluent in written and spoken)
Other language is an asset
