**What does this job entail?**:
Would you like to know how KBC gains **insight into the risks faced by insurance companies?** Would you like to learn how to identify, quantify and manage various risks? Then you will be interested in this risk management internship in the Group Risk Insurance team - it is a unique opportunity.

You will be part of a highly motivated team and your colleagues will actively support you and help you develop.

**What do we expect from you?**:
During your internship, you will:

- work in an** international context **and broaden your horizons to include all insurance entities within the KBC Group;
- learn how we **identify and quantify the risks** faced by the KBC Insurance Group and its subsidiaries;
- learn about the **third-party commercial risk measurement software** which is used in KBC for Solvency II calculations and reporting;
- improve your **analytical skills **and learn how to gather relevant information and how to verify what you have found. You will need this information to support our own view of the capital required and to report to senior management;
- **report **on the risks identified and corresponding measures.

In addition, you will:

- work closely with colleagues from many **different departments** and in different countries (such as Local Risk, Risk modelling, Finance, and Asset Liability Management)
- strengthen your **communication skills **so you can easily explain trends to a variety of audiences, including senior management.

**Your key strengths?**:
From a technical perspective:

- you are currently studying for a **Master's in Actuarial Science**, or you have already obtained a Master's in (Applied) Economics, Commercial Engineering, Mathematics or you have the equivalent level through experience;
- you have strong written and oral **communication skills in English.**

From a personal perspective:

- you are a **team player. **but you can also work independently on individual assignments when necessary;
- you are dynamic, creative and you like to take the **initiative**;
- you enjoy working in an **international context;**:

- you have strong **analytical skills **allowing you to process a lot of information quickly and formulate relevant messages in an easy-to-understand, structured way;
- you are **well organised** and you structure your tasks, set ambitious goals for yourself and respect the deadlines;
- you are eager to learn and also willing to **share knowledge**. You are motivated to continually expand your knowledge and find out more about different types of risk and risk management.
