Role Overview
**We are looking for**:
**Missions**
- Consistent with Solvay’s highest priority being safety, must exhibit the highest regard for employee and contractor safety, strict adherence to Solvay specific construction based life safety rules, procedures and safety culture. Must also be capable of providing good judgment for risk assessment and overall management.
- Will be a role model for Health, Safety and Environment.
- Will participate to the development of the HSE Plan (including Work Permit System) or its review when developed by the EPCm contractor.
- Will implement or validate and supervise the Quality Program for construction.
- Will be responsible and accountable for delivering safe & quality construction activities on time.
- Will be a member of the project leadership team and leads the efforts of the construction management team throughout the life of the project.
- Based on the size of the project and the Owner organization, either will manage directly all aspects of construction activities either will supervise EPCM contractors through all phases of construction activities.
- Will make sure that the EPCm contractor and more specifically the EPCm Construction Manager is fulfilling its contractual obligations. When needed will require from the EPCm contractor (or will propose to the Project Manager) corrective actions and will validate their efficiency.
- Will set up or validate the field organization to achieve Mechanical Completion.
- Will actively participate to the development of the detailed construction sequence by the EPCm contractor or will develop the construction sequence.
- Will participate to the constructability reviews, the 3D model reviews and the readiness for construction assessment.
- Will bring constructability input in the design effort.
- Will participate to the development of the construction contracting strategy
- Will participate to the bids review, bids clarification, contract clarification and contractor recommendation for the construction contracts.
- Will lead the construction coordination meeting or participate to the construction coordination meetings set up by the EPCm contractor.
- Will review / validate the physical progress reported by the EPCm contractor and / or the construction contractor(s).
- Will review / validate / negotiate the corrective actions with the EPCm contractor and / or the concerned Construction Contractor(s) in case of unsafe situations, delay, non-conformity, and related issues.
- Will participate to the review / validate the Work Method Statement, Job safety Analysis, Lifting and rigging plan, for any critical activities.
- Will review / negotiate / validate (on behalf of owner and as per the applicable governance rules) the change request submitted by the CC’s.
- Will be focused (insight mindset) on the next critical activities and make sure that there are anticipated by the EPCm contractor in order to avoid any delay or unsafe situations.
- Will always be a force of proposal in the highest interest of the project (safety, cost and schedule).
- Will bring experience and expertise to the Construction Managers community.
**You will bring**:
**Education and experience**
- A Master Degree in an Engineering discipline is required, Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree is preferred
- Person must have a demonstrated a track record of successful construction management on large industrial capital projects (> 100 MEur) and experience in working within ng international project teams is preferred.
- Must have a minimum history of 20 years in facility construction management experience.

- Person must be self-motivated, have strong interest in construction management as a career, and be able to work effectively in a team environment with people of all levels who are geographically and culturally diverse.
