The Institute for Infrastructure, Environment and Innovation (IMIEU) is offering an (online) position and training programme:
**Online or on-site (Brussels) Traineeship: Development and Management of European Projects**

The position is focused on participating in and learning about the management of European and International projects for the upscaling of innovations, in relation to the decarbonisation of renewable power/clean water production, as well as the decarbonisation of transport (air/conventional aviation; electric air mobility, rail, maritime, and goods/passenger transport infrastructures). The work will be carried out in a small international team. The traineeship will result in an IMIEU traineeship certificate of "Sustainable Project Development - Clean Technologies". The four months traineeship includes possibilities to attend events organized by European institutions to gain an understanding of how the EU is facing climate challenges.

**Requirements and desired qualities**:
1. English near native speaker skills (speaking, reading and writing).
2. Knowledge of Dutch, German and/or French (or other languages), is an asset.
3. At least bachelors/masters' level
- academic background, preferably in European
Studies, International Relations, Economics or Engineering.
4. Sustainability background and/or experience is a plus, strong interest a requirement.
5. Being able to work precisely and meet deadlines.
6. Good Microsoft Office and Excel skills, commandment of Word Press and social
media (esp. LinkedIn) is a plus.
7. Being able to work and plan pro-actively and independently.

**What is offered?**
**(The traineeship can be from remote or on-site in Brussels)**
1. Working in a small-scale team in an up to date European and International multi
- disciplinary and multicultural working environment.
2. Working on the latest innovations in the domains of mobility, infrastructure, water
management, renewable energies, and environment.
3. Training and coaching provided regarding European and International Project
Development, in close collaboration with European Institutions, Expert Institutes,
Industry and International NGOs; with possibility to acquire a network relevant to the latest innovations in sustainable infrastructures, transport, water and environment.
4. A certificate upon successful completion.
5. For the on-site traineeship (in Brussels); a studio housing will be offered for the
duration of the traineeship as well a meeting in living costs.
6. A monthly cost re-imbursement for online trainees is offered. The online traineeship could later on result in a traineeship on site.

**Gain experience with**:

- The development of projects for the facilitation of the SDGs as provided by the Paris Convention 2015.
- The structure of the financing of upscaling innovations in the field of water, energy

and infrastructure in and outside of the European Union.
- Assisting the management of international multidisciplinary and multi-cultural,

inclusive 'impact' projects.
- The writing of programming and project progress reports.
- The grant search process of the upscaling of innovations
- The use of social media for promotion of project result
- Assist in the budgeting, planning of European co-operation projects
- Assist in financial administration activities such as invoicing**Application procedure**:

- Initiation and development of European and international co-operation projects, with special focus on the demonstration that economic development can go hand in hand with the improvement of environment and nature protection. The areas of expertise include spatial planning, infrastructure development and, nature protection and sustainable aviation (Lighter Than Air - LTA -technology and drones, urban air mobility).
- Counselling on sustainable finance for start-ups and financial provisions for the upscaling of sustainable innovations in the fields of water and energy, maritime infrastructure, maritime robotics or aerial-drone/robotics. This is done through a focused database of European niche-grants, bi-lateral funding and of seed
- and venture capital investors, which has been build up over the past decade.
