The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a(n) Analytical Chemist (*) in the Zwijndrecht lab part of the global EHS lab structure, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Preparing environmental samples using various sample_
- preparation/extraction_
- techniques_- Analyzing environmental samples using Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), Liquid Chromatography-Ion Chromatography (LC-IC), Combustion Ion Chromatography (CIC), Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry (FTIR) methods_- Using statistical data analysis methods to evaluate analytical test data_- Implementing and evaluating procedures to improve sample preparation and analysis efficiency and productivity_- Preparing detailed laboratory reports, data sheets, and other documentation in accordance to the Global Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Laboratory’s Quality System and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) processes_

Your Skills and Expertise- Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or a related discipline from an accredited institution_- Experience in advanced chromatography techniques including one or more of the following: Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), Liquid Chromatography-Ion Chromatography (LC-IC), Combustion Ion Chromatography (CIC), Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry (FTIR) English and Dutch, both verbally and written._

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Possess a Ph.D. degree (completed and verified prior to start) in a science discipline from an accredited institution_- Four (4) years of experience performing Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis in a private, public, government or military environment_- Experience performing LC-MS/MS analysis in a GLP compliant and/or ISO/IEC 17025 accredited environmental testing laboratory._- Strong analytical chemistry knowledge and proficiency with Agilent HPLC and/or AB Sciex MS/MS_
- instrumentation/software._- Experience with Metrohm Ion Chromatography and Combustion Ion Chromatography equipment_- Analysis of environmental samples using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)_- Analysis of environmental samples using Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS)_- Experience in test method development and validations_- Prior laboratory experience with ISO 17025 accreditation_- Prior experience working with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)_- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly_- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent documentation skills, ability to work independently to complete projects, as well as work with cross-functional teams._- Microsoft Office proficient_
