**Position Overview**

The position is a key link between the workforce, works council and the leadership teams. A diverse technical abilities and people centricity is required to support chemical manufacturing and distribution activities.The post holder will be the initial point of contact for all EHS3 matters.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Develops topics in accordance with the Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Sustainability (EHSSS&S) organization for Belgium.Support Seveso III (LT) site compliance, coordinates the induction and training process in relation to Seveso III regulations.
- Coordinates and develops site wide EHS3 training programs-Develops emergency response routines and service provisions.
- Supports introduction and monitoring of EHS processes and documentation for all Avantor businesses, including Manufacturing, Production, Distribution, Analysis Laboratories and Services.
- Ability to drive cultural change through action bias and people centricity. -Consulting on risk assessment (planning, implementation, and operations) for all site locations.
- Undertakes EHS3 Audits against a developed programme.
- Supports and coordinates incident and observational safety investigations using root cause analysis techniques.
- Maintains records and documented information relating to the EHS3 function.
- Champions a strong safety management culture. Works with all functional areas to drive standardization, improve efficiency, and reduce injury rates.
- Interacts with the EHSS&S Leadership Team to advise vital continuous improvement efforts so that systems and processes are in line with overall company strategy, quality policy and local regulations.
- Deputises for the EHS3 Manager as required

**Qualifications**

Experience in the Chemical, Science, Automotive or Areospace industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within a global organisation. -Languages: Dutch, English are required, any other European language is a bonus.
- Knowledge of Seveso III.
- Knowledge from manufacturing, production, distribution, analysis laboratories and services businesses general or chemical industry.
- Operational knowledge:

- ISO requirements (preferred)
- Belgium/European occupational health and safety legislation, local governing agencies. (required)
- Process safety (required)
- Atex (required)
- Experienced internal auditor (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 preferable)
- Willingness to travel adhoc to support other European sites
