**What you will be doing**
Following the Umicore RISE 2030 strategy and the ambition to grow as a circular materials technology company at large scale, The Junior Manager Product Stewardship & REACH assists in the management of product regulatory compliance of the Business Unit Cobalt Specialty Materials.
You manage compliance with and the implementation of REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemical Substances), CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) and GHS (Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labelling). Support of international chemical registrations and respond to product regulatory related questions.
**Main responsibilities**:
- Manage the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product labels of the Business Unit CSM to properly communicate product safety information to internal and external customers and to release products in accordance with the applicable legislation and directives.
- Assure accurate and timely input for SDS and product label creation.
- Communicate and implement changes in classification and labelling that are triggered by scientific data and/or legislation.
- Assist in REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemical Substances) related matters to make the CSM product portfolio REACH compliant.
- Manage file preparations in collaboration with consortia and consultants.
- Provide data to and evaluate the work of REACH consortia.
- Support the Manager Chemicals & Product compliance in ensuring timely registrations, updates and follow-up specific procedures (eg, restrictions, authorisations) related to the CSM product portfolio and support the BU in strategic decisions.
- Manage the implementation of REACH.
- Coordinate compliance checks of Exposure Scenarios.
- Provide Corporate EHS colleagues with relevant data extracted from REACH and other data sources.
- Assist in international chemical registrations to assure global product compliance.
- Stay informed on international chemical legislation and keep track of registration needs.
- Manage international registrations in collaboration with consultants.
- Responsible for the response to internal and external customers on product regulatory related questions to provide correct information regarding product safety and to support internal stakeholders in customer service.
**We are looking for a colleague with**
- A university degree in a scientific field such as (bio) chemistry, biomedical science, environmental science or engineering
- Experience with European product regulations and in particular REACH and CLP. Experience with international product regulations is a plus
- Fluent English (oral and written)
- Good reporting and communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Focus on results and customer service mindset
