Function
As Legal Counsel, you will be part of the General Secretariat Department. You will assist the Secretary General as well as the management and entities of the Elia Group at both national and international level.
**Your main responsibilities will involve**:
providing advice on corporate, finance and contract law;
advising on and ensuring compliance with good corporate governance practices;
offering guidance on regulatory governance (more specifically corporate governance and certification under the Electricity Act);
managing the mandates and signing authorities of the entire Elia Group;
preparing and compiling reports on meetings held by various bodies, managing board and general meetings of the Elia Group and its subsidiaries and reporting to management (at national and international level);
dealing with legal formalities on behalf of the Elia Group, more specifically those linked to the Code of Conduct and shareholder register;
Your Profile
You hold a Master's degree in law.
You have 5 years' relevant professional experience in a company and/or at the Bar.
You are fluent in both French and Dutch and have an excellent grasp of English.
You are well versed in the branches of law relevant to the company, more specifically corporate and financial law.
You can work with others at all levels of management.
You are a team player.
You are diplomatic, honest and discreet.
You organise your work effectively and pay close attention to details.
You have solid analytical skills and a flair for writing documents (opinions, minutes, and so on).
