**Analytical Chemist**

For the Technology Centre of Excellence of SUEZ Water Technologies & Solutions in Belgium we are looking for an Analytical Chemist with extended experience in chromatography.

**Responsibilities**

**The main responsibilities are**:

- Analytical characterization of water, deposit and oil samples through use of chromatography and other analytical techniques
- Sample preparation in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures
- Conduct analysis on analytical equipment
- Review and interpretation of data analysis
- Result reporting in LIMS
- Develop and validate new methods in line with business requirements, and perform continuous improvement of analytical methods and associated standard operating procedures
- Responsible for the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instruments including gas chromatography (GC-MS, GC-FID, GC-NPD), Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Ion chromatography (IC-CD, IC-MS)
- Execution of in-depth analytical characterization of foulants & finished products: quality assurance, determination of root cause of issue/failure, product swap, new product introduction.

- Operates in compliance to procedures ensuring high quality standards (ISO9001)
- **Provide analytical support and problem solving for internal and external stakeholders**:

- **Well-organized and focused on reporting results within agreed deadlines**:

- **Compile analytical customer reports**:

- **Support the broader analytical team in preparation, analysis, and reporting of routine aqueous and hydrocarbon samples.**

**Qualifications**
- **Master’s degree in (Analytical) Chemistry, Chemical/Environmental Engineering, or equivalent**:

- **Relevant experience in a similar role is bonus**:

- **Strong background in analytical chemistry with a broad knowledge of analytical techniques and extended expertise in chromatographic analyses (HPLC, GC, IC) and mass spectrometry**:

- **Expertise in one of the following areas is an advantage: analytical laboratory, hydrocarbon process industry, chemical process industry, cooling, boiler and/or waste-water treatment.**:

- **Experience with LabWare LIMS is a plus**
